Brigham Young University, Music 471 Practicum in Children’s Musicality (Dr. Jerry Jaccard)
Part of the final project for this class included taking a children’s folksong and arranging it into a two-part children’s choir piece without accompaniment. I chose the song Zudio, and below is a copy of my arrangement.
Knowledge: Arrangement – Zudio for 2-part children’s choir
Brigham Young University, Philharmonic Orchestra (Professor Kory Katseanes)
As principal flute of BYU’s premier performance ensemble, I had many wonderful performance opportunities. Below is a recording from October 2009 of the Philharmonic performing Richard Strauss’ Dance of the Seven Veils from Salome, in which I perform one of my favorite orchestral flute solos.
Performance: Dance of the Seven Veils by Richard Strauss
Brigham Young University, solo recording
I recorded L’oiseau Blessé by Denis Gougeon as part of a private project during my Master of Music coursework. L’oiseau Blessé is a work for solo flute that uses an array of extended techniques for flute, including singing while playing and multiphonics.
